Warm, compassionate therapy for making sense of life, relationships and
yourself.
A welcoming space for you to talk openly, feel understood and to find clarity.
We will work together to develop insight and understanding in order for you to create the changes you want to see in your life.
Perhaps you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure about what comes next.
Maybe you’re struggling with your confidence, relationships or boundaries. Perhaps you’re constantly doubting yourself, finding it difficult to make decisions, or simply feeling that something needs to change but you’re not sure where to start.
Or maybe you know exactly what is bothering you, but you’ve been carrying it around for long enough and you’re ready to talk to someone.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what you need right now.
You can just come as you are now, and we will work it out together.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come to therapy.
“I felt our sessions were a safe space to speak about thoughts and behaviours I did not feel comfortable sharing with anyone else. Jane made the space comfortable and supportive, but also provided an objective outlook when needed”
(client for 12 months)
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially when you’re talking about things you might not usually share with anyone.
I completely understand that.
As a therapist, I’ve got through therapy myself, and I know how it feels.
I will be your ally, I will be both on your side and by your side throughout the process.
I’m not there to analyse you, my role is to work with you, so you are never alone.
A space where you can be completely yourself.

I’m Jane, a BACP qualified, neurodivergence aware and informed humanistic integrative counsellor, and I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of good therapy.
My approach is warm, honest, open and down to earth, with some lightness and humour in the mix at the right time - laughter and tears are welcome in equal measure.
I won’t sit back and leave you to do all the work. We’ll work together, and where it feels appropriate, I’ll offer thoughtful and compassionate reflections to help you see things from a different perspective.
There’s no right or wrong way to do therapy, and there’s nothing you should or shouldn’t say.
You set the pace. We will work together to help you understand what you want to change in your life, and how you can make that change happen.
I am a mother of two grown up sons, a dog lover (I have two shih tzus, mother and daughter), and I’m passionate about the human capacity to heal and move forwards.
I have ran a fitness, yoga and well-being business for over 25 years, and know how our mental and physical health and well-being are inextricably linked. Stress, grief and anger sit in the body - and we can work with this to help healing.
“Jane spoke to me with kindness, openness and respect throughout our sessions”
(client for 14 months)
What brings people to therapy
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, and there doesn't need to be one single thing that has happened.
I work with adults who may be experiencing:
Self-esteem and confidence
Perhaps you’re constantly questioning yourself, comparing yourself to others or struggling to recognise your own strengths.
Boundaries and people-pleasing
You might find it difficult to say no, worry about disappointing people, or regularly put everyone else's needs before your own.
Anxiety, overthinking and self-doubt
Maybe your mind rarely switches off. You replay conversations, worry about the future or find yourself stuck in cycles of rumination and indecision.
Neurodivergence emotional difficulties
Maybe you have a diagnosis of neurodiversity and you are seeking to find the best way to manage. Maybe you suspect neurodivergence and would like to explore this further.
Relationship Difficulties
Maybe you keep picking the wrong type of person. Maybe you cling to people or run away when things get serious. Maybe you find yourself feeling jealous or insecure. Maybe you end up in conflict all the time.
“Jane has equipped me with an attitude towards my own thoughts and behaviours that centres around self compassion and understanding rather than criticism, shame and self loathing, an area I had previously never been able to change”.
(Client for 12 months).
Therapy isn’t about fixing people. It’s about understanding our individual patterns, behaviours and choices.
Together we build insight, understanding and self compassion, the three prerequisites for change.
It’s about taking a deep dive in to the self, looking at both the past and the present, to bring about deeper understanding and self awareness.
Perhaps you recognise yourself in some of these...
✔ You’re struggling with self-esteem or self-belief.
✔ You find yourself constantly worrying, overthinking or ruminating.
✔ You struggle to make relationships work without conflict and anguish
✔ You suspect you may be neurodiverse, or you are dealing with a diagnosis of neurodiversity.
✔ You struggle to say no or put boundaries in place.
✔ You find yourself people-pleasing or worrying about rejection and criticism.
✔ You’re feeling lost or unsure about what you want from life.
✔ You’re struggling to make decisions or take the next step.
✔ You’re going through a period of change and don’t quite feel like yourself.
You don't have to arrive with a diagnosis or a neatly defined problem.
Sometimes you just know that things don't feel quite right and you'd like some space to work out why.
“I am so indebted to Jane for her wise counsel, patience, kindness and understanding. She’s given me very real tools to help keep me on track, which I didn’t have before”
”.
(Client for 12 months).
What happens when you start therapy?
Starting therapy doesn't have to be a big dramatic step.
